Pokemon Platinum, eevees, and rock types. [Dec. 16th, 2010|07:56 pm]
Pokémon for Adults!

So I'm going through Pokemon Platinum for the first time and I've run into a snag. I don't have a good water or rock type. I'm about to take on the elite 4, and I think it would make things a lot easier if I did.

The problem is, I already used the eevee I had to make a jolteon (who rocks, by the way, lovely stat gains in speed and special attack and I didn't even EV train him or anything), and I can't get another eevee since I can't access dittos yet or the national dex. So I can't get a vaporeon unless someone is willing to trade me either an eevee or a vaporeon outright. I then thought maybe I'd get a seadra or something but I can't access those yet either!

So what I'm asking is, A. Does anyone have a spare female eevee/vaporeon they'd be willing to trade me, and B. Does anyone have a good recommendation for a rock type I can access at this stage in the game (right before beating the final four)? Rock types are a type I never liked very much so I don't have much experience with them.

Also, I'm new here, hope this post is okay. :) I'd love to hear everyone's opinions!

Some sort of answer. :D

Hm, I'm not a part of this group, but I see that no one has responded, so I thought maybe I could help. I'm going out looking for girl eevees for a friend later on, so I could catch another one for you if you'd like. If you want me to evolve it as well, let me know. :)

For my opinion on rock types, I still love graveler and golem, but they're X4 weak against grass, water, ice...and ground and fighting hurt, so maybe a shieldon/bastiodon? They're rock and steel, so they're really weak against fire and ground moves, but they're still tough.

I say vaporeon can take out Flint and Bertha, bastiodon can defeat Aaron easily, though a speedy and strong flying type would be more useful in case drapion knows earthquake, I don't remember, and with Lucien you should be careful. My luxray knows cruch, so it wasn't that hard to beat him, but gallade was a jerk and I, at the time, didn't know it was a fighting and psychic type, so I kept trying to do damge with crunch which didn't turn out well, so use a flying type move/pokemon, and for bronzong you need heavy moves. Fire helps, but it probably has heatproof as an ability, so fire attacks are weaker. Cynthia is tough, but I think overtraining can beat her. I was down to my staraptor and her Lucario when I first faced her. We won. :D

Extra gibberish, yes. D: I hope some of that was helpful. :/

Re: Some sort of answer. :D

Thank you for the offer! I managed to get myself a vaporeon a long time ago and just the other day completed my pokedex for platinum. I don't really need help anymore, but it was nice to have someone actually reply to me!

Re: Some sort of answer. :D

Oh, well you're welcome! :D I'm glad you got a vaporeon, and congrats on completing your pokedex! I'm still working on it, kind of, but I'm not worried about it. And I thank you for replying back as well. :3
